Button’s mother smiled uneasily and turned around, dragging a heavy object in the room in the shape of a big box. Sweetie Belle nodded and gestured to the inside of her room. “Sweetie,” she greeted and looked inside her room. She was met by sniffles from Button’s mother. “C-Coming!” she said, and bounded towards the door, opening it. Sweetie Belle gasped, tears forming in her eyes once more. “Button Mash’s mother is here to see you, Sweetie Belle,” Rarity said sternly and yet kindly. “W-What?” Sweetie sniffled, a bit curious as to why her normally so confident sister was sounding weird. “Darling, I know you don’t want company but… er, well…” Rarity’s muffled voice sounded uncomfortable through the door. “R-Rarity I d-don’t need anything!” she yelled as loud as her parched throat could muster. Later, the doctors had concluded that the driver of the carriage had been drunk, and it had come to light that Sweetie Belle’s best friend had been killed by a drunk driver named Hasbro.Ī knock at her door caused Sweetie Belle to jump, dazed despite her sniffling state. One day after a day at school, Button Mash had been walking home when a psycho veering taxi carriage had swerved on the road, slamming into him. Button Mash’s death was a freak accident, one that rarely happened out there in Ponyville. The marshmallow filly had been bawling ever since, mostly because she hadn’t even gotten to say goodbye. For three days since he had died, Sweetie Belle had been heartbroken, barely eating and sleeping all of the time, so much that her big sister, Rarity, had been starting to get very worried about the filly. ![]() She had just attended her best friend, Button Mash’s funeral, and needless to say it took a big part of her.
