![]() ![]() It does NOT work to disconnect and reconnect the monitor all after Davinci has been launched. Same if connecting while in the edit tab - only the edit tab retains smooth video playback. For instance, if connecting the monitor while in the color tab, then when switching between the edit tab and the color tab, only the color tab ever plays smoothly. This is weird but true: Now playback is smooth in that particular tab only. Launch Davinci into the tab to do work in, then plug in the monitor and enable ait. Completely disconnect the second monitor (so that drivers are effectively "off"). Partial gludgey workaround that works on my system. But with the second monitor connected, Resolve (on the "very powerful" desktop) cannot play smoothly. Render cache and all is not related to the cause IF (like me) performance is great when you launch Resolve (or Resolve Studio, doesn't matter) with the second monitor disconnected. On the Blackmagic forums, some people are saying the problem went away with newer versions, then came back in 17 / 18. I'll work for you for free!
